Could anyone give me a tutorial with setting a Pulsar 2 with a Yamaha 01v96?

This has been driving me nuts for the last two weeks.

I have set the 01v at 44.1 and 16 bit but cannot get the pulsar to sync with Cubase 5.1 and the Yamaha

I have hooked it up via ADAT, but get the message "Sync error ADAT in"

I put a similar post on Future Producers but I am still having problems. I thought people in here might have more indepth knowledge of setting the Pulsar up with digital mixers.

Cheers in advance

what are the master/slave relationships?
are the cables truly seated?
have you tried other cables?

Hi, Gary

Thanks for your reply; I have tried to answer as best as possible

“what are the master/slave relationships?”

I am not too knowledgeable about this; I think I have the Pulsar as master and the 01V as slave. I would be grateful if you could give a few pointers on this.

“are the cables truly seated?”

Yes

”have you tried other cables?”

I have not really thought of this, as the cables are brand new

try making the o1v master and the card slave.(either way should work fine,but.....)

even new cables might be bad(you ARE using 2 cables,an in AND and out,yes?)....

this ought to work....

I use 01v as slave.

for wordclock remember to put your speaker on very low volume!!

go to set-up page 1 (01v)
select auto navigate
you get message confirmation select ok press enter

make sure pulsar is set to master
take any sound source and connect to adat dest.

I found scope as master better to work with/but you can also do wath garyb says, you'll find your wordclock in "setup"

goodluck

Hi
I use a Behringer ddx3216 and my mixer to my pulsar using the SPDIF rather then ADAT. You must select in the settings which connection is used for sync. One advantage of slaving to your mixer is that once sync'ed the settings window in scope indicates the samplerate you have sync'ed to. So you know your in business.
I use 16 ADAT and SPDIF with no problems.

Hi again, I have tried what you have said but I am still getting the same error message.

Everything appears to be ok in Pulsar as the adat port is highlighted red within the Samplerate settings.

But the weird thing is that I am now getting constant clicks and pops.

I have also lost the use of automation within studio manager

Anyone any more ideas

Please help

Hello AGAIN!!!!

I think I have cracked it all but one slight problem.

When I have the system synced up, the studio manager software will move the faders on the hardware mixer freely, but when I move the hardware mixers faders there is resistance.

Anybody any suggestions??
