Before you all go jumping in with accusations of the regular users of this board blindly defending CWA and the platform, consider this:
Software is *always* going to have bugs, things left unfinished, etc. It is the nature of the beast.
It is great to point certain bugs and inconsistencies out. Especially direct to the developers. Did any of you email CWA directly?
What is very silly is to use your frustration at some bug/overlooked thing as an excuse to assume that a company is lame/fucked/contemptuous of its users. This is pointless, anti-social and childish, as well as severely deluded.

Hi
I agree that some of the synths sound good but that does not mean that Creamware have a good attention to detail. If Creamware customers tell them there is a small bug then Creamware just ignore their customers, this gives the impression that Creamware do not care. All software has bugs....fact. But is about what you do about it, just ignoring it, hoping it will go away is not the best way.
I don't see the point of 'just because ProTools has bugs it is OK for Creamware to have bugs???'..all software has bugs. It's more about how many, how servere and what you do about it.
I have run my own company since 1990, my software has bugs, my customers tell me how important they are to them, if they want them fixed, the bugs are fixed.
Creamware are a small company they should be able to respond quickly.
I am becoming dissapointed this this forum, it used to be free of personnal attacks and folks seemed able to express their views. It is a shame that I cannot say that Creamware has had 'problems' without being labelled "pointless, anti-social and childish, as well as severely deluded"

yeah, i second that. let's keep up with constructive criticism, we are customers after all. I can't understand those of you protecting cw so much. What are ya scared of? having the feeling that you didn't buy the best product around? wanna get hired? the best way to do this is to put your fingers right on the problems. And why not have good fights? this place is becoming a bit boring but that's just me...
i agree, the bugs need to be fixed.
i depend on cwa to fix them.
they generally fix anything that is showstopping.
cwa needs to make money to pay programmers to fix bugs.
i like the free updates.
programmers are so rare that they really can choose what they want to do.
therefore,
an adversarial relationship towards the company makes no sense to me. possibly many of the indignant attitudes shown in some complaints stem from the fact that we can see just how great it could be "if",and we get greedy, forgetting the miracle that we're working with. perhaps some are quite young and inexperienced and don't know just what music production has required in the recent past(electric music is just one lifetime old) and they are just naive, they don't know real value.
my suggetstion is, email cw politely about what you want and then if you wish, remind them from time to time. i see no reason for them to respond to anything they don't wish to respond to for any reason including "i'm too busy right now".(but i do hope that they'll let you know that they heard you)if they don't do what you want them to,buy something else, if nothing does what you want, engineer it yourself. but please, don't bitch to me about what cwa doesn't do well,i can't help you.
it would be a lot less boring to help others with their problems. there is a better chance that a product with a good vibe will continue to make money and be supported and improved than a product surrounded by b**ches...or more to the point, if i were a programmer dealing with the tedium of going through old code,i really wouldn't feel much like doing anything for rude inconsiderate jerks. new work is always more appealing than old, that's why y'all have so many unfinished projects!
it's not about the technology,it's about being able to get works DONE. anybody who sez that they can't do great works with the stuff available(priced at next to nothing compared to 10 years ago) needs to stop making excuses.
speaking badly of others is a bad habit in this world that i'm(unfortunately) not above.ditto for the politics of power.one thing i have learned though is "don't sh*t where you eat" and "don't upset the guy making your food".

Kenf,
I wish you'd read my post instead of just reading what you wanted to read. I merely pointed out that bugs in software are inevitable, and I'm not denying that the CW software has bugs.
However my main point was that using that as a basis to say they don't care is silly.. if they don't fix it there's a reason. I work for a software company too, and basically the prioritized bugfixes are *essential* ones.. not relatively trivial ones like text editing of values. It doesn't mean that there's no attention to detail.. it just means that programmers are human and companies often have limited resources.
My words were not a personal attack.. just giving you another perspective.
peace
PS yes it's a cat (neko=cat). I won't be commenting on it further to divert threads from the topic. Thank you for your understanding. I like cats.

Hi
I have emailed Creamware in the past being really nice and constructive suggesting ways to improve their business. I have emailed them with 'bugs'. I want Creamware to succeed I have said this many times on this forum and some folks insults will not change that.
I emailed Orbtone last year asking if Vorb will ever have XTC support. I got a response the same day saying not in the near future. Not the answer I would have liked but an honest, acceptable answer that I appreciate. Any questions I have sent to Zarg again they are dealt with properly.
To me this is how to do business.

Bang - you said, what I have been thinking of saying for a long time. It just couldnøt find the right way to do it. Bitching here = going to the wrong people. We can not reprogram Scope. So why have "a good fight" with us?On 2004-04-27 05:26, garyb wrote:

Do you mind, if I use it in my profile?
Hi Kenf,
I think you have a perspective problem if you think I was insulting you.
Also, have you ever considered the fact that the companies you mention (Orbitone/Zarg) are pretty much one-man operations? It is much much easier to give a response to a question/bug report when you do BOTH the programming and support. In a larger (but still stretched) company, things can be more logistically difficult. Just because you don't get a response, does not mean the bug report was not filed.
As I said, I wasn't insulting you or blindly defending CW, I just wanted to give you some reasons to save your energy, and keep directing your bug reports at CW, instead of directing your frustrations at this board (bug reports are welcome here of course.. but continuous "CW don't care" comments are just tiresome I'm afraid).

Exactly! I don't know how often this problem with text editing was mentioned on planetz, Creamware.de and even kvr-vst forums...but it was many times. Creamware is simply ignoring this problem. If they don't fix this bug in the next update my cards go to ebay. The Creamware employees shall move their a55es. Even if there are just a hand full of employees left. The only one who is responsable for Creamware's cuurent situation is the Creamware employees themselves...not the fault of the customers. On 2004-04-27 02:48, Kenf wrote:

the cause of the current situation is that noah was not finished before the money that was borrowed to make and sell it was due. but i agree,it was not the customers fault and i would like the text editing bug fixed as well. the bug in no way makes my cards worthy of trash(imho),though.....
I only use my Creamware cards in XTC mode and this text editing bug makes them useless. And atOmics suggestion to draw the values from within the VST host isn't helpfull either. I only use the cards for mixing and mastering, which means that I filled almost 20 Cubase Channels with compressors, delays, EQs and some other effects. Tsja...and now try to draw the values from within the VST host...especially compressor and EQ values. I would need hours...so I better won't do it in that way!On 2004-04-28 14:13, garyb wrote:

I don't understand why it can be so hard just "assign key focus" to a plugin window :-|
