I'have a small (read big) problem with cubase sx. When i use a VST, like NI-Battery and i set up a 1 bar sequence with a bassdrum. I get small random crackles after the bassdrum is hit. I got no problems with playing Scope instruments or my Access Virus, so it is a VST problem. I hope somebody can help me.
Thanx in Advance.

System :
SFP 4.0 (pulsar I)
Cubase SX (Scope ASIO driver)
Pentium IV 2.0
ASUS P4B motherboard
512 MB RAM
2x Maxtor 40 GB (7200 RPM)
WIN XP PRO (Standard PC)
Crackles Cubase SX
More likely to be the way the whole audio system is configured.....the crackles will (usually) not appear on export anyway because the computer isn't having to play back audio in real time.
It could be any one of a number of things....
Try playing with amount of voices/RAM in Battery;
Try raising latency in ULLI in Scope;
Try playing with buffer sizes etc in your seq;
If your'e still not getting anywhere try reducing or disabling graphics acceleration in your PC graphics preferences...
The list goes on.....try searching this forum, its a very common problem and every case has its own remedy,
You might do well to get another 1/2 GB og RAM.

This really belong over on the NI forums, or the Cubase forums, but here is what ya need to do
If your using SX2.x then open: devices/plug-in information/scroll to NI Battery and place a check mark on old host behaviour.
This is a common issue with NI products and Steinberg products ver2+, its because the SX engine and code is based from Nuendo and this is a problem in Nuendo.
So place that check mark and all should be fine
Cheers!
