i am looking to expand my pulsar I setup, currently running very well on pentium II 400, with 320mb ram.i see i can get a luna 2 for $333, or a pulsar II srb for $777. the two lunas option provides the same number of dsp and also i/o not on the srb, and it would be cheaper. so whats the danger of three cards versus two?

You can only have 3 Creamware cards in 1 computer so if you want to expand beyond that at some point you'd have to remove one of the cards and replace it.

and CW marketing strategy sucks for us on that. it MUST cost more to make two boards especially with I/O. yet the pulsar II srb is > $100 more . . . and the Scope SRB is priced even more absurdly . . .

algorhythm, surely you noticed how much more SOFTWARE comes with the Pulsar cards? Sure, the difference between the cards used to be even larger, before Luna could run Pulsar plugins too. And once 3.0 is out, the difference will be large again... now do you see what you're paying for?

Also, the price on the 3 DSP cards is cheaper, as to entice new users into the system, at least this is my theory. After you get serious about it, the "limitation" of "only" 3-Creamware cards in a single box forces you to only look at the larger cards anyway. You pay for the "more pro" gear, as it were. Strange marketing? Perhaps.
