I certainly hope that there are new drivers. There was plenty of time *before* the insolvency to get them working.

When change the software the driver must change too..try 3.1c version and drivers related to 3.1a and get a lot of problems..
Drivers BUILT FOR xp always function on win 2000 but drivers for win2000 function not in every situations on xp.
Drivers must communicate with the software they are related to,now, there are many software that are ok un win2000 but not on xp..
If you think drivers you own are ok for xp get that and update only software and GOOD LUCK!

Well yes, if you change either the top or bottom interfaces which the driver talks to then you do need to change the driver code.
The point that I was making is that the driver models are the same, so given identical interfaces, the same driver will work on W2K or XP.
Personally, I wouldn't touch XP with a barge pole

Funny XP is basically NT 5.1 (notice that 2k is NT 5.0x) and in 5.1 they 'fixed' quite a few things which affect us (like ACPI). Of course it does require more modern hardware...
Also 2k & Xp do utilize the same WDM driver model. Xp simply extends it to new arenas such as Bluetooth & other new wireless models, USB2 etc.
