I was just amazed the premiums they have there...funny they choose to sell u the FireGL version of the ATI cards...

Not sure why a DAW user needs to pay extra for a Radeon that has OpenGL drivers for multiport views & antialiased lines (the only real difference).

Yeah the FireGL's are a big scam by ATI. They charge 1.5 times as much for a normal radeon chipset modded to accept the GL drivers. I recently modded my Radeon 9600 pro into a FireGL Z1. Not much use for games of course, but it's nice for 3D work.

Guys, guys...

Now, THIS is nice:

http://www.go-l.com/desktops/machl38/features/index.htm

Just two of many nice things: Your systemdrive is a 8,5 GB/S (Yes, that is gigabytes-per-second) flash RAMdisk, and your CPU runs at aprox. -30 C.

BTW. Check their monitors too, and drooooowl. Also check the news page. AAARG. Need a million in cash NOW.

->FWOMP<-

(sound of overstressed, underpaid engineer and underskilled sparetime musician sliding off his chair and landing on the floor in uncomfortable position due to impact with the sudden knowledge that the technology race has left him engulfed in tire smoke somewhere in the bushes)

Wonder when the grand canyon display will go on all-blowout-sale at heavily reduced prices (something like 90-95% off) - well maybe not.... :smile:
