I think they will lose their clients... It was impossible to make something serious in a single PC two years ago without a dsp solution, but now there are affordable powerfull DAW with only I/O cards that could do it : Double Athlon Mobos are out
and other cards have really low latency... and some interesting FREEWARE audio sequencers have been released with Dx Asio and VST implementation. Creamware and 3rd parties companies have to understand that, if they go on like that, customers will go away...
It's not only about modular2... Pulsar has no real sampler, and if u want one, the better way is to use a plugIn in yer seq or a hardware sampler that we'll be cheaper than buying a STS4000. Hey, 200$ for modular2, 350$ for sts, 300$ for vectron, 500$ for timeworks, 1300$ for a second board cause one has not enough power, 4 ADAT converters at 3000$, 600$ for the seq and 2000$ for the computer... Man, you purchased 10000$ stuff
and u don't have mics, monitors, instrs, etc... Yeah, Pulsar is a really all in one solution!
Well, I'm upset because I'd like to go on with creamware stuff, but... sorry, Pulsar is a RICH BOY tool... and I ask myself if I'll go on with such a solution... A bi-athlon with only I/O cards will be more affordable and more powerfull than a scope... sorry dude...

A bi athlon with just I/O will NEVER give you the same power let alone the routing.of a SCOPE
besides you would be better off going with a higher clocked single chip in most cases
and WINDOWS 2000 IS NOT MULTIMEDIA HEAVEN
if fact if it wasn't fot the dula CHIPS you wouldn't see any better performance
