Who works with 96 khz ?

I bought my creamware cards ( two scopes Zlink ) because I wanted to go 96 khz. Before I bought my computer I called Creamware to tell me what hardware I should get.
First of all , I`m happy with my investment. I use it mainly as a digital mixing system , not so much as a synth-substitute .

BUT there is no way I can make my system work at 96 khz. I tried a lot of things. I read in the forums. I twaeked , I finetuned and I did some meditation over it

... now way.
I get PCI overflows all the time, although I only use less than 20% of my DSPs

Does anybody work with 96 khz and if , how did you achieve it ?

My setup :
ASUS P4B533-e
Pentium IV with 2.533 Mhz
Fast HDs
Matrox G550

Please HELP if you can.

Hey Jigger.

Did you get also the A16Ultra?.. I mean that's the only I/O device designed to support the Z-Link protocol at 96khz, of course you can use your card at 96khz without the A16Ultra by using the analog inputs on the card.

Can you show us a screen shot to see what latency you have on your settings? I guess its probably too low for your system.

I have two A-16-Ultra in my setup.
I am sure this is a stupid question but what
exactely do you need to see on that screenshot ?

Yes, did you try different ULLI settings? Slower should be more stable.

SFP ->Set ->Settings ->ULLI

I have the same PC, a Scope & Pulsar2, no A16's but Luna2496. Runs fine at any dsp loads, any ULLI, including @ 96kHz samplerate.

Maybe you're trying to load Minimax or Interpole, which aren't 96kHz compatible? What devices are loaded when you get the overload?

How many STDM connections do you have? Use 2 at least, preferably connect all of them.

Also, STM-2448 & STM-4896 don't seem to be 96K compatible, at least not with phase compensation switched on

Hi,i have nearly the same setup as mentioned above except 1 pulsar2 + 1 Luna2/ex instead of 2 pulsar2's.I wanted to know if you have solved your problem because i get DSP overload big modules do not fit messages when i switch to 96khz in Logic even if it is an empty song.i have tried all ULLI setting with no changes.This is a bit disapointing because the main reason for buying these cards where unsing my 32 channels of AD/DA's together at 96khz.i need all these channels because i am not mixing in the box.My pc is basicaly just a tapemachine for me.

The system is OK at 96K for 3-4 hours.
I thing that the problem is the Temprature of the PCIs or the CW cards or the PCI bandwidth of 32bit is not that much!But its OK with me! I use 24/44K! The key to production is to make it sound like 30 KHZ or sometimes even lower!!

Try to change the PCI latency in BIOS to 128, use PIC mode, use the latest drivers (and the intel accelerator), put CW in IRQ9,
don't use the last PCI of your sysyem with CWboards, use StandarPC setup, use win2000, but more fans in your system, and in general: DON'T USE 96k !!!
You have no reason!
If you want something different goto 48 but once again there is no reason!

My problem is:
I am using Cubase with all major VST/DX plugins and I had my first step in Logic few days ego. I get used but I am having a problem!
I instaled some plugins with the plugin enabler and i put all the plugings on the vst plugin folder inside the logic folder.

The problem is that when i open Logic without a song in, it uses 450 Mb of ram so when i am in the middle of a project I am with 880 mb of ram usage!!
I have only 1GB of Ram!! With Cubase SX I did't had a ram problem!
Is that normal??

Win2000-Standar PC Mode
3 Creamware Audio DSP boards in parallel (STDM)

SFP is probably trying to load the mixer on the Luna2, which won't fit if you're running at 96khz. With a bit of CSET.INI tweaking, you can reorder your boards so that the Pulsar2 is the first board, it should be able to load STM2448 at 96khz without problems.

I'm not home right now tho, so I can't run you thru the changes without a bit of digging. If you think this might be your problem (check your DSP meter in SFP to see which board is first, you'll see 1/1 1/2 1/3 2/1 2/2 .. 2/6 if the Luna is first, otherwise it'll be 1/1 1/2 .. 1/6 2/1 2/2 2/3 if Pulsar2 is first,) drop me a line and I can dig it out from somewhere. Searching in tips&tricks might also turn it up.
