Pulsar II - MIDI notes get stuck when using external control

Oh my god... I thought this problem would be fixed when I changed my Athlon+VIA133 computer for a 100% intel Pentium III + intel D815EEA2 mobo...

but no... the problem is still there...

I would love to know if there is somebody out there able to help me.

Anytime I use my external MIDI controller (its a temporary, cheap MK-4902 which I believe is a clone of the "evolution" kb you can see around), midi notes get stuck, and also (weirder) some very low notes get triggered, plus some very high ones... cacophony my friends...

Do you guys know a way to fix this? Maybe by routing the midi signal through a special filter? I don't know... I am quite sad because i love playing hard and fast...

Please help me

have ya tried another controller? this would tell ya if yer synth is sending bunk midi data. hook up the midi monitor device (came w/pulsar) and see what is being transmitted.

dat oughta fix yer prob

How much voltage are you feeding the controler with?

Cuz, with MK, it's written on back 9~12v, but it's really 12volts. Below, notes get stuck...

try this! This fixed mine (MK149) and my friends fixed his (not a MK, don't remember which) the same way.

ohh this 12Volt thing is interesting.. the transformer im using does output 9V... you may be right!

I plugged the midi monitor, and after a while if I press too much the keys, I see "program changes" and "pitch wheel" and also "mod wheel" messages transmitted (!!??)

i will try with a 12 V transformer and see...

OH - MY - GOD

IT WORKS! The problem was the adapter! it was outputing 9V and the controller needed 12V to functionc orrectly!

OH MY... FOR A YEAR I thought the Pulsar's MIDI interface was buggy, and I had my ISA MIDIMAN 2x2 interface as a replacement (for some reason it was working though, the midiman's midi is probably more accurate than the pulsar's)...

Off to radio shack to get a 12V transformer (the one I tested with was my VIRUS B's 12V trans.)

Yep, for a few months I thought Pulsar had MIDI "stick" problems. But the real problem turned out to be the Roland A33 external controller I was using which was flooding Pulsar with MIDI clock info.

For some reason I feel "alone" with the Pulsar II card... because not many peopel have it.

So it feels good to feel that community thing going on on this site.
