I'm certain that Cubase had the same labeling, because I knew about the 1,3,5 thing *before* Sonar 2.2 came out. I tried the Cubase SX1 demo. Can anyone with Cubase SX confirm this?

By the way, while everyone is bashing Cakewalk's ASIO implementation, I'll put in my 2c. It's a bit shaky. Sometimes if I'm editing notes in the piano roll the audio engine completely drops out, and if I have a lot of envelopes running I get clicks and pops. Also recorded audio is placed slightly ahead of the proper time. None of this happens with WDM. I don't know if it's CreamWare's drivers or Sonar's engine, but that's what's happening for me.

Actually many programs may exhibit inconsistant labelling, and some audio programs have responded by allowing you to label the outputs. In logic I simply rename the objects assigned to the outputs if I feel the need, but honestly once you've realized how the audio is actually routing I don't think its a terribly big deal. For instance I only break down & use scribble strips on my outboard desk when projects use more channels than I can easily get my head around.
