only one drive reads akai

hi,

Ive got a new system with asus p4p800
running with XP-pro
two cd drives (one dvd one rewriter)
but only the dvd drive reads the akai sample's and yes I put the adaptec aspi"thing"
what can be the problem?

I don't worry too much about it and just use the DVD drive for reading them...they are quite different beasts after all (the drives).

Conversely, my re-writer drive can read some formats that the DVD can't, so...
