Win2k clicking

I recently decided to go Win2k for most things I am doing, but have some probs with Pulsar and audio. I get clicking and popping very easily, either when I use a few DX plugins in Cubase - the more CPU I use, the more clicks - also if I move windows about I get clicks, so I suspect this has to do with that I am running using an ACPI PC setup for Win2k - I tried switching to 'standard PC', but then my ATM card didn't function, so I switched back. IS it problematic running ACPI, which means everything will get IRQ9 or something - the clicking could be caused by too many interrupt requests?
