The first two are dark and disturbing, and I quite like. The third one I find a bit sadistic and gratuitous.

But then I thoight the those "Silence of the lambs" films were disgustingly sick and depraved, so that's just me....

Thanks for your honest opinion Spirit.
I too found the Silence of the Lambs VERY disturbing because it could actually happen.
Anyway, putting that aside, I'm also happier with the first two pics - and yes, the last one is intentionally gory.... but now I can see that it's pretty much over the top...
The CD itself will contain disturbing themes so needed to reflect that. The first time I scanned the raw material in for the "mug shots", it gave me chills and I had a feeling I was on the right track - the deep line through the face was just a crease in the photograph, but it looks like a huge gash at 600dpi ewww.

Well, I wonder whether you should say that in the interviews ? I thought it was a very artistically done effect and quite creative - I haven't seen it before ...

edit: just one other thing with the third photo. I think it would be better just to concentrate on one image - maybe the brain. Having four images and the barbed wire makes them compete against each other for attention. (I used to do a lot of this sort of work and often the "less is more" formula would work wonders)

In a world where everyone is (supposedly) trying to promote peace and love, why is there so much gore in the mainstream music community?

That's a really good question Shayne, and I have no answer. There just seems to be more raw power in this type of imagery. Then again, people have become desensitised towards violent images. Some just look and say "wow, cool!!" others are disturbed. I'm just guessing it's a good thing when people are still able to be disturbed by an image (??)
