I recently bought an ASUS CUSL2-C mobo as recommended by most pulsar users here, but now that I've installed it, it seems that when I check the dma box for my Maxtor HD in Windows, system performance slows to a crawl.
I know I had this problem with my previous mobo and an old HD, but it was fixed with the Maxtor. But now it's back again! Which storage driver should I be using? Or is it not necessary to check the dma box if the drive is set to UDMA in the BIOS already?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

please download at least the Intel chipset drivers for Win:
ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/TREIBE ... ATZ/INTEL/
Do you have SCSI? -since I had trouble with the ATA driver I did not install it. ATA driver is under
ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/TREIBE ... INTEL/8xx/
Information is in index.txt (language support).
And check latest BIOS:
ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/BIOS/S ... p/CUSL2-C/
Happy pulsaring

After I installed the intel driver that comes with the board, I had all sorts of problems, so I immediately threw that out and now I'm using the standard microsoft driver. Is there any specific driver that I should use?

Microsoft driver is the one to use... You'll probably want to to a http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com (backup first just in case, as usual).

I think if you can stick with IE5.01 with the latest patches, its a little better than 5.5 still.
