Hello!

I was surfing the internet and I came across the site of "The British Commitee for the Restitution of the Parthenon Marbles".
If you have a bit of spare time, please do have a look at their site. You can learn about the history of the marbles, and why they should return back to their home country, Greece. There is also a list of some of the most famous supporters of the Restitution of the Parthenon Marbles.
If you support the idea yourself, please dedicate 10secs of your time to vote!!!

Thank you for your time!

times have changed, if you for sentimental reasons try to take with you a simple stone from Turkey, found somewhere along the road, you risk a severe discussion and mony payment at the airport.
A stone...not gold, oaks, marmor or slaves...

I agree with you  The Greeks (or the Italians (Romans), the Spaniards, the Portuguese, the Dutch, the British, the Egyptians etc etc) and the rest CANNOT have and/or ask to have BACK their Empires!!! That is in history! Gone!

Howeverm from your responses, you clearly show that you have not visited the links... Thus, what you say is irrelevant to THAT PARTICULAR case.

Thank you

sorry Rodos1979, I just read back my words and saw you could read it as if I was making stand to your words.
I was just thinking, nothing more, like someone who says, 'man, times they are changed...', you see?
If you ask me, I'd definitely say let's give immediately everything back to everything who got the rights on anything, if possible
So don't worry, I got your point very well and can feel very well the meaning of them

I promise to be more sensitive in choosing my words next time, it's definitely not your fault the way you picked it up
cheerz

edit: ehh, I signed that page days ago

i live in a continent recently stolen from it's original keepers..

for me, it makes the whole issue of land ownership very weird and unapproachable (without taking soaring real estate prices into account

i support any effort for a people to claim back stolen culture. These things do not go away, no matter how far they are swept under the carpet by offending groups...

good links, rodos, and i wish you & your countrymen good luck in this endeavour.

Wayne, don't want to get too OT here, but do you have any suggestions about the land issue ? The problem in Australia is that I think there is enormous goodwill and everyone wants a solution yet no one has a workable plan - at least none that ever get heard.

true words, Spirit.

both sides need to be open to dialogue, and there are cultural barriers in the way.

i have no answers - but, i know that i don't like how real estate is set up in our society. Being born doesn't entitle you to a roof over your head, and the poor miss out. i feel that a birthright should be something more...not just an opportunity to sink or swim in a "free" market society.

also, it is definitely not everyone who wants an answer to this that involves coming together.

sorry for ot, rodos , i'll stop now

Hubird, I am sorry too for misundestanding your words but I was a bit biased already from the ironical response of coc909.
You dont have to apologise! Thank you for registering and being the polite person you are
@Wayne: thank you a lot for your wishes

The only thing I know actually about that, is that somewhere in the Australian desert there is the biggest rock on the planet (cant remember its name right now). This is a sacred place for the aboriginals, who never climb on it. However, every tourist in Australia that "respects himself" has to climb on that sacred rock, which is sad...
