Late as always I finally decided to move on to XP pro. When I check the audio properties, everything but 16bit is greyed out .... I don't get it, can someone explain why?
thanx in advance Carsten

thanks for replying. I know the question has been asked a zillion times and I did put the pages in my favouritesfolder .... but my harddisk decided to commit suicide and everything was gone ..... totally - I know ... back up - I did - on my D drive which I also lost .... *DOH* the thing that freaks me is, in win98SE I had no probs running a (small) 24bit Nuendo project. If I do that now in XP it crakles a lot. Guess it's because XP uses more power (my machine is ooold - 600mHz) Though I've been to blackviper's page to find some tweaks, after starting up I have about 360mb unused ram left of 524mb
was this a confusing post? - sorry about that, guess it's because I'm a confused pulzarian

I don't see any bit depth options there either.
Get to:
Device ManagerSystemHardware then you get to the administrator and double clik in your pulsar card dispositive, you'll get a box, get to the settings tab, that's it.

This is winxp - SFP compatibility bug (CW know about it). For 24 bit use ASIO. Or in some cases specifical settings with wave24 can help, for example "24 bit alt" in wavelab.
Also win2000 have fix of 24 bit trunkating in kmixer driver. But i don't know, is that similar problem in xp too.
