I got this problem when i switched from win98 to WinXP. I presume you're using WinXP.
I wasn'tt able to install SFP due to this problem you're describing. After installing a service pack everything worked as a charm.
Though, i do not now what the problem was, and i still don't know how it actuall got solved.
This might not help mutch...just thaught you should know.
BTW.
Did you download SFP 3.1c from CW or do you have it on CD ?

Well, in RegEdit (you should be able to download this somewhere, use Google!) you see list of registry entries connected to certain programs. There was only one for SFP.
The thing is, I hadn't been able to properly uninstall SFP, because I got a new harddrive and the driveletter changed for the drive that had SFP on it. This gave some problems so that's why I wanted to reinstall it. But because of the changed driveletter the uninstall wouldn't work so I just deleted the folder. But this left the registry entry intact preventing the new installation from working.

Hi King of Snake
a good tip. I did never know this before.
Still you know, which entries you've removed in your registry ?
cheers
Ralf
( tanx for makink my job easyer .
Maybe you have the time to write to rb@creamware.de ).
Mostly this can be fixed by installing the MS service pack, updating the aspi driver ( you can get it at adaptec.com

It seems some reg entries of the previous SFP installation made the setup impossible. I used regedit to remove them and now it works![]()
