I've made it entirely in Cubase SX XTC mode. Export is done through realtime audio rendering in Cubase with full plugin delay compensation. The Guitar part is played by the Korg Karma, this guitar is embedded realtime in the song (no recording nescessary anymore in your project) on his own asio channel.

Production info (used gear):
Creamware pulsar II in XTC Mode
Cubase SX 2.01
Minimax (3 of them)
Korg Karma
lots of other vst instruments.

Please let me know what you think of the song or if you have any questions about how i did it.

Nice feel to this. The acoustics, electronics, fx etc really compliment each other. It improves over time with the changes around 3:30 and 5:00

Excellent

Wow, this track is really loud but nicely balanced.
The "in your face" drums/rhythm moves my stomage up and down while the guitars, lead and synths holds it all together and they build up an excellent counterpart.
The relaxing part, in the asiatic style works perfectly(around 5min). And then you pick up all elements again for the showdown.

This is very well arranged and your song never transports a sense of boredom to me. When the track ends I feel like brainwashed.

I love this one.
Thank you for sharing that on Z.

Wow, these are very encouraging reviews. thank you all for reviewing the song.

submarine: the atmo pad is done by a preset of a free vst instrument it is called superwave (roland jp8000 clone), the preset i've used is called resopad.

you can download this free synth here: http://home.btconnect.com/christopherg/main.htm

when a song is mastered correctly then you can't really hear the difference anymore between hardware synths and software synths. It's all about mastering

well then try a saw wave with lowcut resonance filter, and see what happens in the lows...
If you don't see much difference between them you have a Minimax or high quality VST synth, but it's hard to beat hardware (A and VA) synths, I guess.
But indeed, a vintage saturator can do wonders in general

I love that bell sound that you're using. It kind of morphs from one sound to the other.

Great arrangement and structuring. Everything keeps changing, little by little. But it keeps to the central chord progression theme. Nice.

I can't stand this type of synth soloing, Quifster, but the way you worked out the arrangement plus the waving technics shown in it (as Ken rightly said) deserves a big complement
Vert sensitive
would like to check this piece with (a) more today lead sound(s), played by midi

normally i make trance and dance music with modern sounds. this time i wanted to do something different. therefor i used 'old' sounds with modern drum programming. i like the contrast in the song very much. if i would change the sounds the feeling of the song would be completely different. But i appreciate your remarks

Beautiful song, I truly enjoyed it!

Suggestions:
I would like a second voice, with some counterpoint when the melody repeats by the end, some pitch bend for the end of the musical phrases as well would be nice.

I also liked, like all my partners here, the way the song unfolds. Nevertheless, the end is quite abrupt and cuts the atmosphere down, without reason. I would like a little arrangement for the end, of perhaps 3 to 4 seconds instead.
