I don't think so. You should be able to leave the I/O on the PulsarII and make the SCOPE (SRB) board "Board #1"
The I/O will probably appear as something like:
PulsarII(2)
e.g. when I recently installed the XTC board (no I/O) alongside the existing PulsarII board (w/ i/O), the PII's I/O appeared as: 'PulsarII(2)' i.e. I think that my PulsarII is now the 'second board', but still contains the I/O for the system.
As far as I understand it, it is important for you to set the SRB as the '#1 board (as it has the most DSPs).
"Generally it is recommended that the card with the most DSPs is treated as the first, or 'main' card in a system."
Something to do with spreading those DSP-hugry mixers about...
