I’m curios to know what you have used to do the song… It doesn’t seem the SFP sound I’m used to. Cheers.

I liked a lot of this. The patches/sounds were pretty spot on. A 7 out of 10 from me.

A couple of comments though (personal ones):

It felt to me as if you'd thrown all the elements of this particular genre into the one track. It's as if you wanted to do everything in one go, throw all the tricks in. I feel that there was enough diversity of ideas in the track to make it into more than one track, and to concentrate on certain elements more in each of them.

The "melody" line is fine but I didn't like the top notes at the end of each riff - for instance around the 1:30/1:40 mark onwards for a bit. I think that the last note could have been lower, perhaps off key, adding a tension that would have been resolved in the next riff. This tension would also compliment some of the "dirtier" patches used in the track.

Overall though, a track that I'll keep. Nice one

First of all thanks very much for taking the time to have a listen guys  Nestor, yes, all of the drums are samples as I don't really like the ESD sounds. The lead, bass and melody are Miniscope, blue and Prisma respectively. NielB, very constructive comments on the song structure, thanks v much although I was actually very apprehensive about how the the overall quality of the sound would come over. I was learning as I went with this song and was attempting mastering for the first time.

Your song has some nice themes, fx and melody.

To my taste I will suggest:

The bass is a bit muddy. Try to make it snappier by lowering the Decay, and make it more punchy in the mix by boosting a little around 90 hz with an eq.

The synthlines could also benefit from a touch of distortion and delay.

All in all I find the tune is fine, but could be a little more "dirty", also the drums.

Hope I was to any help.
Yours truely

So this is your first time mastering? Wow! You'll be good soon so, cos it's not bad at all. I noticed that you have perhaps done lot of EQs or something, before going into mp3, cos the sound is actually a bit degraded, and this is why I thought it was not an SFP production. But the mixing as a balanced out of the music, is great. Keep working hard so, and let put some more in here...
