I recently upgraded logic to 4.72 . I´ve to point out that it runs less stable than the 4.6 and the midiports have been reinitialized with the result that I had to reconfigure my whole projects. But the main problem is that the EXS24 is only playing 8 sequences or 8 bars. With my game card (soundblaster live) it just will run fine. Is there something again wrong with the ASIO handling?

hi,
i´ve worked with the lap472 on my pulsar I and have not realized any changes in stability between 4.7x and the 4.6x ... i´m also using the exs when i´m working on the pulsar-pc ... but no special problems!

so, i don´t know why the update should initialize your settings!? if it would do so, you should have been read about it in connection to other users and boards and so on...

i know, no real help--
but... an answer!

good luck

hi zer,
after reading your posting i have tried working with exs and logic 4.70 on my synthesis system yesterday... all works.
so: what kind of asio-driver are you using?
i am still using the asio 16bit... this works for me fine. i´m sure you have checked the environment-windows? did you check the path/routing of midi-signals?
it´s not that much, but better to know that it CAN work, isn´t it?

good luck

Hi Horrn,

well... I tested one with 16 Bit ASIO devices and one Asio2 16 Bit - with the same result. Perhaps I should try EASi although it´s not recommendend by cw. But why the hell it functions uing an SB Live and not using the Pulsar...

Where are your ULLI settings at?
What sample rate are you working in?

You definitely want to use ASIO still. I use the ASIO2 24bit modules without too much problems. You might have to play with the sounddriver settings in Logic (requires a restart after your changes). Remember to have the ASIO2 module loaded with the correct number of channels before relaunching Logic. Version 4.7+ is much better than 4.5/4.6 which had lots of issues.

I thought so myself. But it´s only the exs24, which is driving me mad, there are no problems with the real audio tracks. I use always 26 Bit devices since I´m using Pulsar 1 + SRB and my music needs some kind of "Low-Fi" chracter so 24 bit isn´t really necessary. My audio uses always 44.1 kHz so that should be sufficient. My Ulli Settings are set to the max 34 ms, because I noticed pops & vclicks if I turned it lower.

there are definitely some setup issues if your ulli settings are that high.i will concur that 4.7.2 is not as stable as 4.7 .
my guess (hope)is that 5.0 will be much improved and the current probs are just incentive to buy the 5.0 upgrade. 4.7.2 still seems to work well enough tho.......
maybe 4.7 would be better for now(another month or three before 5.0)........
