Asus P4P800 and 2 CW cards problems help"

Can anyone help Ijust got a new system based arround an asus p4p800 p4 setup
the problem is I cant get the two cards working together when I try an load more than 3 or four devices i keep getting messages about "STDM " type stuff and i am unable to load any additional devices both cards work fine by themselvs but when i put them together i get this problem

Both cards are on irq 21 and 22 . Anyone got any suggestions

Did you connect them internally with a STDM cable?

Sorry, but is the first thing to be sure of...

..AND did you connect them as described in the manual. (there are several places to put the stdm cable but only one way is correct)
