This might be system specific, but still if it saves a single set of monitors it's worth postin'! I got a terrible plop when i loaded grapheq into a 1632 insert slot while cubase SX was playing beneath. Got away with it, didn't fry my monitors, but it was a dreadful expirience! I have Z-link pulsar II, monitors to analog out...

It happens here too. I have trained myself to lowering the volume before ever inserting one. Mute your master. Still, it should not be needed.

this isn't recommended with real-world hardware either - even if the playing is on a different channel you might still hit the wrong plug :wink:
you might even produce unpleasant side effects by commencing the disk from playback to loading a plugin or whatever.
Anyway, it's indeed good to post as such things can't be remembered often enough.
