New V3 released today :
- DSP optimization (50% less than the previous version). The Multicomp Lite is only 1 DSP and the Multicomp Full 2 DSP.
- Professional user manual in PDF and Winhelp format.
- XTC compatibility.
This is a very professional Multiband compressor, very creative with a lot of Unique features.
Here is a list of its features :
-3 independent bands that can be setup with only 2 button (HI/LOW) for an immediate and easy use.
-Solo mode for each band. Band on/off.
-Gain, threshold, ratio; attack, release for each band.
-Fully Stereo (means 6 band processors, 4 filters)
-limiter with bypass and peak.
-Gain IN and OUT. General Bypass
-Look ahead feature for removing the ugly room effects that are in most Compressors.
-VTube with bypass specially programmed for adding the magic of the triodes. Amazing results guaranteed.
-5 Type of compressions : (3 band stereo = a total of 30 different compression processors !!!). Some compression algorithms are unique and very noticeable. Not like most compressors where Soft or Hard means no difference at all!
-all the buttons have their corresponding number that can be edited for the most control over all the parameters.
-ultra powerful vu meters that can be use for compression threshold, Vtube enhancement drive or band output level. Very precise (128 steps : compare with a 32 led vu-meter!)
-3 level of peaks to avoid distortions and clips, at the band split, before the limiter, at the output.
-6 out for all the separate band output.
-Stereo in, stereo out and midi support for all the parameters.

I haven't tried it but it looks like HuiCholity had something to do with the creation of this device, http://www.huicholity.com/pulsar.html

Phasing problem fixed in ver 1.6. It takes some getting used to but the results are superb. Good for fat, heavy kicks. (house, hiphop) Obviously adds more definition and clarity to the mix if used correctly.
The vtube adds high harmonics that work great on vocals. (think, babyface or boyzIImen) These things are just not obtainable through EQing.
Also good for beefing up drums loops before chopping up. (hint: breakbeats)
Warning: I have Pulsar II and I can only load ONE of these.

Mix your track as best you can THEN turn this thing on. Find the preset for your tune then tweak for best results. The end product is shear magic.
Yes it IS DSP intensive but well worth it.
The best Mastering tool I've used (I do only use software however) If anyone can recommend a better one (software) please email me!!

I've just give a try to this demo , and I find somethings really strange.
first : the preset doesn't fit really well with the sounds ( more bass give less bass ??)
two : when I'm trying to change the two filters (low and high) , there a big problem with the stereo ? ( phase problem ? ) . so I wonder if it's a demo limitation ? by the way I find the lite version far more accurate ? ( the gain doesn't work on the demo ? )
anyway I've found some really nice sound but I have to forget all the thing I have already learn about multi band comp and just use my ear . so this device disapointed me a little bit . maybe it's the demo or what ? I've put the last dsplib etc .. the more disturbing thing is this kind of stereo shift I have when I try to change the frequency range of the three bands ? maybe I use it in a wrong way but I dont think so ..

yeah.. found the phasing thing kind of irritating. I'm not sure what exactly is going on. It sure sounds like phasing to me. But well, I sort of learned to accept its imperfections. I like it as it is. The strange response too. It's quite different from the usual comps. It's just.... er... strange and unique.
yes but in digital domain ( even more in the mastering process ) it's better to know exactly what a device do .'cause it's very easy to degrade the sound . especially if there is phase manipulation . For me i think the cut frequencies are not the same for L and R . so the compression do not occur the same on the two channel ... I don't know exactly ?
I have e-mailed dadev.com about a query in the past and also got NO reply.
My best guess is that he looks at his own forum alot more than this one. I tried posting there yesterday about this same problem but did not have permission to do so, apparently???
So if anyone out there after the new version does have permission, a post on the dadev forum would be a good idea.
P.S. This is NOT the first time this has happened!

Hi folks,
Sorry for the delay.
Some answers : the v3.3 is in the member's page distribution. In fact, the ST version is in version 3.3 but the lite version is still 3.2 (the changes in the v3.3 were not necessary for the 3.2.
So the actual distribution has both the 2 versions.
I've also changed the preset. They were incorrectly translated from the v2. I had no choice than re-create some presets. The defaults are not that hard. The old ones were too hard...
