This question was posted in the past and just wanted to check if there was any new fixes for it
Hey people, I've got a pretty strange problem here. When I try to record a file at 24 bit resolution (with 24 bit wave source & dest modules loaded in SFP) Soundforge (6.b) always seems to be getting a mega-loud signal, it all the way in the red when I set monitoring on in the recording dialog, even when there's no signal at all coming from SFP. I don't have this problem using 16 bit modules.
What do you think it could be?
24 Bit recording in Soundforge Problem
I also had this problem and found out that it's the DC adjust option in the SoundForge recording window which causes it. Just disable it and then recalibrate and it's gone, pretty weird btw.
First recording in 32 and then dithering to 24 and after that to 16 would really make the quality of the 16 bit file bad since you then need to dither 2 times.
