some of you who've played the pc game "diablo" will recognize this little melody.. the guitars on here are programmed samples (since i can't play very well).. but i guess it turned out ok.. it's very much lacking fx if you compare to the original.. but i suppose i lost the project so i couldn't continue it..

anyway, enjoy..

p.s. i'm not a gamer or anything, i just liked the great music of the game.

so no one has any comments to share?
i don't mind the criticism. i'd criticise it myself, there's just nothing i can do about it.. except reproduce it of course.. don't think that'll happen though..

Yeah that theme bring back distant memories  I remember that theme giving me the chills - So does your version!
Really nice coverversion! It must have taken a long time to program all this.

Cheers!
Thomas

thank you all for your comments..

petal: well actually it didn't take very long considering i worked on it 2 days straight, comparing every now and then with the original.. but it was very fun to do..

i have to say that at some parts, the guitar sounds a bit piano-like.. is there any kind of technique to give it an acoustic effect, program-wise, for my future projects ? or perhaps a "fake slide" or something like that? (i gotta get me an electric guitar  )

Thank you very much, I have played Diabolo1 for one day and for few hours. I can´t remeber the game music. But I can rember me on the early Kings Quest adventure games from Sierra or Monkey Island. It has a touch of our middle age music. I´ve spent many hours with KingQuest, you´ve brought me back some great memories.

I´ve got no suggestion how to improve the guitar sound but I don´t think that I´ve lost something, I like it as it is.

I compared the track with my (boring) monster killing in Diablo II (same music). OAk's track is really accurate. the ambiance is here that's what counts.

For the guitar, the only solution is to get... a guitar (acoustic for this track no?). Six strings makes really nice guitares too, the best syntheziser for this task in my opinion (I do not know how steinberg virtual guitarist works, but i was impressed by the mp3 i found on the web. normal, it is samples, not synth).

The guitar sound on this track has a nice sound, but what happens is that, on some notes, some "less desired" frequencies become too obvious.
My own solution for this is to cut the suspect part (after recording on audio track), copy it on another track, and equalize it differently so both tracks match. I do not know any other simple solution (except using a better plugin). You can try filtering at the source, before recording into audio tracks, but some desired frequencies can disappear on some notes, and this may not be desirable neither.

Age of Mythology has some great music inside...
