When I open my window it is like you are sitting on the street or the cars drives through your head all over the day, it´s tremenduous.
Maybe this is my last song in that studio because I own a new flat now wich is big enough to hold the studio, I´ll see.
Anyway, every bad thing can have a good side and I used the traffic in front of my window to find the rhythm of "nature" or maybe the rhythm of that day. I open my window and recorded the traffic for aprox. 10min. Then I imported the recording and made a song over it. I haven´t cut the traffic recording and looked what will happen.
Around bar 33 a guy passed my window and said hi for example. I´ve tried to bring this traffic and my music under one hat. I think I was successful. Also I think I´ve reached a new stage of my mastering leraning curve. Please give me feedback it´s my first big song after many months of darkness.
I hope there is no problem with the remote URL, how about raising the max. upload size to 10mb,John?
P.S. Neil nothing has changed you don´t need to download it again.
Thanks.

Thank you rrominet4, I haven´t heard this track on other speakers or monitors than my.
I try to find the balance between mastering compression and a hearable track. The clicks you maybe hear in this track are from the reverb, somehow that reverb was overload I think. I´ll check this track on some other speakers. Thanks for your review. It´s good to know that guests can download from that remote url.

Nice track there Chris and great ambience. I really liked your use of the sampled streetnoise.
I didn't detect any distortionpeaks other than from the deeb rumble in the start of the track (I use Yamaha NS-10M). I heart the reverb-clicks, but I tend to like those, especially in these kind of tracks
About the mastering. To me it sounded really great. Sounds to me like you have really managed to open up the whole frequency-spectrum. And the track is really loud too.
I'm curious, what did you use for mastering? Did you use any of the special CW-plugins like PsyQ or Optimaster? Or just good old FinaLiza?
Cheers!
Thomas

Thanks for this explicite feedback petal.
I haven´t used such plugins you mentioned.
I have eq´ed every single track and carved out the frequences I need. Nearly every track uses the endorphin comp. I did the final mastering in Wavelab on the final sum track. My final masering chain was a 6band eq (I had to reduce the low frequences around 65Hz by nearly 10 dB) I wish you could hear the wav instead of the mp3.
The second mastering plug was the waves L2.
So the most mastering work was done on each single track.
Huub, did you get the file or not?
When not I can sent it to you via e-mail.
Edit: for example try to raise the frequence of your tracks at 3800Hz, that brings "briliance" to your tracks.
After all not bad for an 128k/sec mp3 or?

Thanks Petal to allow us to download it.
I truly loved the emotions there… it’s difficult to say, cos I can be subjective about it… Nevertheless I’m going to tell you what happened to me: I felt a bit of frustration. It was the feeling of someone adapting to a difficult situation. I felt sort of a mixture of sadness and hope, like something finishing, like death perhaps… but followed by a new beginning which could be good so there is hope.
Musically, very nice sounds, fantastic landscapes of sound, open wide spaces to fly away.
The mix is great, very well balanced to my ears. Overall an excellent job truly.

What a HUGE soundscape. Quite amazing really.
I enjoyed the trip muchly.
I played the mix on just about everything I have laying around (from my internet iMac to my DAW and the loungeroom stereo) and it sounded perfect to me.
Just for the record - I don't own a pair of studio quality monitors... I'm using Cambridge Digital... with very little risk of middle ear disease so far
Well done
