How to get my cusl2-c mobo to see the full 40 gigs on my Dri

I got a asus cusl2-c mobo and it only well see 33.8gb of my 40.gb Maxtor ata100 drive. I got this for Pulsar because alot of people seem to like this board. Has any body ran into this ? Any help would be great.

isn't windows what you want to see your drive?is that a formatting problem?so hard to say with so little information..........

You probably have to use the Maxtor tools that came with the HD, usually a floppy that you use to partition it. Alternatively, FDISK *might* be able to do this, but you'll have to answer "Yes" to FAT32 or "large disk" support. If FDISK doesn't work then you definitely need to use the Maxtor tools disk that came with the drive.

Also try using partition magic 6,

or buy a mac :smile:

It is because the drive manufacturers say 1 meg = 1,000,000 bytes to make the drives seem bigger when actually it is 1,048,576 (1024x1024) just another example of marketing rodents distorting the truth.
