LOTS of good talent... I have this little progressive trance didy I did and I am at a loss. I was hoping to get beat up a little. I think good constructive criticism is the best.

This track was written with the "big party" in mind... Long (12" single) intro-outro. I used logic and luna/pulsar effects.

spooky intro.. sounds like bats are flying by

strange rythmic element there.. the swooping sound's got a funky groove. And what's that other sound? a thunder or a thunder plate? Whatever it is, it creates an interesting ambience.

Overall, it seems like the bassline is a bit too upfront, or all over the place really.. compared to the kick, which is kind of on the light side. Could be a preference thing, no biggy. Also, the bassline seems to be very loose in terms of gate. I'd personally prefer more rythmic emphasis on the bassline since it's the main melodic element.

An afterthought would be.. well, I'd pick one sample from the pool and process the hell out of it and make it a "theme" sample. The piece seems need something like that. It's good and well done, but needs a powerful sonic theme.

Welcome to the board by the way!

Thanks for the welcome and the time to comment.

Yea, it was hard keeping the bat droppings of my keyboard!!

Your right about the bass, I do agree. I have thought about remastering this one, but I just feel there is more missing. I think I mudded up the bass line with too much delay. Something to work on.

I was going for the dark power drive (Used Modular II for that crunchy thing) that is hiding there somewhere. I thought about the "theme" idea with the vocal. I guess I was trying to save it, but I think your right, maybe having some alternates building would work.

Thanks agian and I will check out someof your posts when I get home to a computer with real speakers...

I liked some elements of this but found it hard to drop it into a progressive trance genre. Certainly there are some excellent bits in it, particularly after the 4 mins 10 mark, but it all seemed a bit muffled on my headphones. I was waiting for it to really take off.
As a track I did enjoy many parts of it.
I think others (the trance people of "Z") can offer more constructive criticism than me (having just uploaded my first attempt at trance) but I'd have liked a stronger kik drum and bass line too. I'd also have liked to hear the arpeggios more too.
Nice track though. More please

I'm stupid... I did the mp3 late in the night and didn't realize it is at 80k. Uhhh! Lost ALL the highend a clarity. I will re-post tonight at a better bit rate. Sorry!
