Hi everyone,

I have explained my problem already. Can you go to these links (in the project section of PlanetZ) and check out my screenshots and tell me what is wrong please.

See my response in http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... forum=14&1
Yes, the problem is you've connected the Aux Returns to the ASIO input. If you want to use direct outs (which is what it looks like you're trying to do) then on the Main mixer window go to Option (bottom left) and highlight the Direct Outs button. Now you're mixer will have a load of direct outs. Or you could use the Bus Outs which are always there (on the right).

Thanks for your response, but I am not having much luck. Still no audio is going into the STM 2448 mixer. I will send another screenshot. Sorry a correction. I mean that no audio is going into the Logic/Cubase mixer. Audio DOES go into the Pulsar mixer.

Please help. I am going nuts!!!!

Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify you're problem: can you see Vectron Player's level on the mixer but still not the ASIO Source - or are you getting no meter readings at all? If you you can see Vectron Player making a sound route it to the direct outs and see if it you can see it going into Logic/Cubase. Can you hear/see anything if you route the Master Mix LR output into the ASIO2 Dest 1 and record that way?

Do you record 16 bit? Why not try the ASIO2-32 Source 64/ASIO2 Dest-64 modules. These are good for 24 bit and i think are slightly newer codings.

why are all of your asio connects stereo?also, you are using the direct outs to asio module.the input of those channels is asio.all you have done is make an asio loop with a fader in between the asio modules.if you use direct outputs, they must be connected on channels that are being used for audio sources(like adat or synths).maybe you want to connect to busses instead and assign busses on the channels being used....follow the signal from your source to where you want it to go.this stuff is EXACTLY like hooking up hardware.

Thanks for the responses so far. But what would be really nice is if someone could provide me with a screenshot of what I am "trying" to achieve. I am kind of an idiot, so things have to be spelt out for me.
As I have already said, my project with Big Mixer 2 achieves what I want to achieve, but I can't seem to do the same with the STM 2448.

Thanks in advance.

Referring to that link above:-
* Disable all stereo channels on the stm
* move the ASIO 2 source module down so 1L out connects to In9 on the STM2448. Then connect 1R to In10 ....etc etc
*Move the Vectron up so OutL connects to In1 on the stm and OutR connects to In2
*Connect DL1 of the stm to 1L of Asio 2 Dest. Then connect DL2 (not DR1) to 1R of Asio 2 then next on to DL3 out to 2L and so on. Notice how you are not using the DR outs.

You should now get a signal from the Vectron player going into logic. You will also hear it at the Mix output of the STM. You will also hear the output of logic starting at
channel 9 of the stm mixer.

As someone else suggested, try getting you hands on some literature/diagrams explaining the signal flow through audio mixers. The architecture of SFP is very much like having a hardware studio only it's inside a pc.

...or Mac

Seriously though, do as suggested, start simple, find the signal flow then build it up from there.

Bassdude,
Thanks for your help. First of all what you suggested I do works. I now get my signal from my Vectron going into Logic. However, I record in stereo, so I don't understand why I need to disable stereo. When I do I only get one channel (either my left or right responding in the Logic Mixer) Secondly, I tried doing it in stereo and it works fine too but then I noticed that my anolog source which is used to record my guitar has no signal going into the Logic mixer. GaryB you ask me a few questions that I don't really understand. As I have already said. I want to in essence create what I had going with my Big Mixer set up , but this time using the STM 2448. I really don't know why I can't do it in stereo or what you mean GaryB by I have in essence created an ASIO loop.
I am a bit further. My Vectron will go into the Logic mixer but not my Analog source signal which is on channels 3 and 4.
Can't someone be kind enough to make up a project for me or create a project and provide a screen shot. To know what I am trying to achieve please refer to my screenshot with my Big mixer set up, which worked by the way. As I have already said, I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff. And there is no point telling me it is like setting up hardware because I don't know that either.
Someone else created the big mixer project for me but they are not around to help anymore.
Just in case that I am giving the impression that I am a complete idiot can I at least say in my defense that I am a reasonably good musician but I know fuck all about the technicalities of studio wiring.

I essence, why is it that the first two inputs of the STM 2448 mixer send a signal to the Loogic mixers and the rest don't?
Thanks in advance for your help
