I have Asus mb,P4-2Ghz-1Ghz RAM,Pulsar 1(v.3.1),Logic Audio 5.1,Matrox G400 dualhead (AGP-card) running under windows XP.
The problem is when i have a song running in LA and I touch Pulsars any windows or try to mix (move a slider in Pulsar mixer) in Pulsar window LA crashes "system overload".
I used to have all this working perfectly under win 98, but now nothings working ´cause of this problem.
I monitored my CPU level with a software and I noticed that every time I move something in Pulsar the CPU usage goes up to 100% and that causes the crash. This CPU thing happens only with Pulsar not with any other software running with LA.
Can anyone help me with this?
1) I have all drivers for XP that I found for all of these cards.
2) I updated the motherboard drivers.
Thanks!
Pulsar 1 don´t work in my XP
You might try to set SFP on lower priority in TaskManager (Ctl-Shift-Esc).
If this solves the problem, make a text file and copy next text bewteen ":
"start /belownormal Drive:SFPAppBinSFP.exe". Correct the line so it has your correct SFP.exe path. Save the text file with .bat extension and run it to automatically start SFP in Below Normal Priority.
Don't know on which graphics bitdepth you are, but I found that running my monitors on 16bit is smoother than 32bit, using a G450.
Also lowering ULLI can drastically free up CPU, especially when using loads of ASIO channels.
I hope this helps...
