Just downloaded Adern's Kick Me which sounds awesome. But I have noticed that when triggering Kick Me quite quickly in succession, variations can be heard in the transient quality of the sound (ie the click sound will vary in loudness).

I used to own a Drumstation which behaved in the same way and so I'm wondering what causes this.

Presumably Kick Me resets the phase of the waveform when it receives MIDI note on messages, and so this shouldn't be the cause, but does anyone else have the same problem (surely not just me)?

Thanks

It's not a synchronisation issue.

Yes, the oscillator retriggers on each 'note on' message. Once you found a kick that fits, you can sample it and sequence on an audio track...

Also check out the KickMe topic in Devices forum, where ReD_MuZe explains some more.

actually i think he might have been referring to this thread:

http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... orum=16&55

about halfway down the first page Red_Muze explains the transient issues...
KickMe is monophic (at least i think thats your problem) the amplitude's envelope release should be set to be short as possible (without clicking)so that when a new kick will come, they will not overlap.
if a kick comes before the last one is finnished, the transision between 1 kick to another will happen in only 1 sample. that wil generatre the click.

Very true. Here is where sampling of one kick and arranging in the sequencer locks it in place.
