Hello All,

I have just got my new PC and installed everything from scratch (something I haven't done for a while). Anyway, while trying to start Logic I get a message saying:

"While trying to open MIDI port "Creamware IN/OUT 1" in function "midilnOpen," the error "There is no driver installed on your system" occured. Make sure that the MIDI interface is connected and switched on."

My MIDI interface is connected and on (AMT  because my soft synths are responding but when I try to play a Pulsar instrument nothing happens. Can anyone please help?

No doubt it is something basic, but I am an idiot when it comes to technicalities of software tweaking and what not. So just in case I am not aware of the obvious, my apologies.

Thanks in advance for your response(s).

Hi Marcuspocus,

Thanks for your reply but I haven't been able to solve the problem. I have done what you asked but still nothing!!!I have checked the win.ini settings and they seem fine. All the Creamware MIDI IN OUT are set to 1.
I have noticed that with only Pulsar running and no sequencer , there is no Midi input going in at all!!!. The Synths don't respond. Nothing midi related. I do have midi modules in the project. I have also noticed that my analog source doesn't work! I have plugged my POD ( guitar unit ) directly into the Analog In and there is no signal coming through. Could it be that I have a faulty breakout connection?
Please help!!!!

Thanks in advance for your response(s).

could be a bad connector, you can check that pretty easily with a meter.is the whip ALL the way on?that has tripped others up.

Do you have the SFP project launched first? It should be opened before the sequencer starts. Or instead of normal project your background project.

I get such 'no asio driver' or 'no midi driver' also when synchronization in SFP is set to 'slave' and the master device is switched off (in my case my hardware sampler). Just switch it in 'samplerate' menu.

Hello,

Thanks for your replies so far. GaryB, yes of course the modules are connected. Samplaire, yes my SFP project is loaded first. Even when I don't launch a sequencer and it is just Pulsar running I get no MIDI or Audio response. I have tried all my breakout cables and still nothing. I am sure it can't be a breakout cable problem because I know at least one of them works. Also no problem with MASTER/SLAVE as that seems to be right as well. I have tried just connecting a MIDI source Module to a synth and synth into a mixer and nothing.
Help, I am going nuts!!!!!! 3 Pulsar cards, one super powered PC and the only use for it I can think of now is as a footrest.
By the way, while I was typing this post Ulli from creamware just rang me. Wow!!!! Now that is what I call service!!! and told me that it could be related to the fact that my PC configuration is Set to ACPI mode and not Standard PC mode. Could that be an issue? He is sending me some stuff on how how should optimise everything to Standard PC Mode.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Regards

Try to search the forum Tips & tricks as well as Problem Solving) for 'ASPI'. There are many threads regarding the mode, I suppose
