A mixture of funk, disco, and modern drum sounds. I'll be recording vocals over this during the next few days.
Uses:
Kicks generated using flexor's beta modules
dubsub for funkadelic bass
sixstring + mod2 custom waw module
Timeworks master comp hard for maximizing
And lots of funksmanship!
So whatcha waitin' for?
Start dancin!

it warms my heart to know that musicians the world over are partaking in the bass with the dubsub. the bass can be a fulfulling and exciting experience, if properly respected. one must practice "safe bass", however, in these dangerous times, as misuse of the bass may result in euphoria, enlightenment and a warm fuzzy feeling in your belly. On 2003-08-08 04:16, kensuguro wrote:
dubsub is da BOMB!! The bass synth of choice by more than 90% the nation's doctors, scholars, and funksters. Dubsub!

Dubsub! There's nothing like it.

Hmmm... Don't want to put a damper but this one needs something.
There is too much dynamic rhythmic stuff going on. I would tend to add something more static in the mix, either by making the drums more linear( hihats would be nice) or making the organ more "paddy", like playing straight long chords( you know what I mean). My jist is that at one point everything just gets mixed up and the focus is lost.

Are we listening?..
ken, what you need is a live band! no kidding. lately i have been listening a lot to old live recordings (zappa in new york, miles davis live at fillmore east 1970,...) and for this kind of energetic music, i can't imagine ever getting the same flow out of pulsar, or any other computer thing, as with a live band.
but i know, even drummers have to eat
couldn't but agree that this is a top composition.

i actually thought exactly the same thing... how great aspects of this track would sound if played with a full horn-section/ live guitar, etc... it would take it to the next level, for sure!On 2003-08-10 16:43, borg wrote:

LOL guess why I want to learn how to play sax! Yeah, it would be lovely if I could put together a live horn section. Such is life, theyr'e getting more expensive by the day!
