hi!
a friend brought in my home an old korg ms-20, now i'm having a lot of with it!
i plan to sample his "dry" waveforms to use in CW modular. does this make sense?

yesterday i sampled my first waveforms and i tried to import it in a modular patch which tried to reproduces the korg ms-20.
i had time just to patch OSC and filter... i tried all the mod2 filters, and the one who best approximates the ms20 is the multimode filter set to 12db... it doesnt reproduces the korg ms20 extreme resonance settings, but it's quite similar until the korg knob is at about 1/2 his maximum.
but the sound, using my samlped osc, is VERY similar to korg's one (i had a spectrum analizr for reference). my work will continue...

Great idea bosone, I would be certainly interested in a wav pool with ms-20 waveforms.

cheers,

Hi Bosone, thanks for the offer.
I´am interested and I can offer you a sample pool with my Reaktor waves.

ciao

i'm working on the mod2 emulation, but i lack a 6db hipass filter with modulation...
i hope to find someone with DP who can helkp me!
for waveforms, i'm working also at them, i'll publish them on my site soon!

Finally had the chance to try them properly and I must say that they sound great! Especially the lower tuned samples. And it was a big supprise that my favorite waveform is the triangle. I find them normally very dull, but this one has a special character. It sounds more like a filtered saw on top of a sine wave.

Thanks for all the effort!

cheers,
vincent

glad to know you like them!
the most interesting thing is that the waveforms are not "normal" saw or square, but are a bit more complicated.
it would be interesting to build an oscillator for modular which is not a "perfect" saw, tri or pulse, which sound more or less all the same!
