dear john,

since you changed the software bottom of this board, every time my netscape loads the pages, the little icons are all red. so i have to search every later thread for new replies. when i go back to the topic view, all icons are yellow... just wanted to report the only thing that doesn´t work in my browser (nc4.72)

yours,
Mo

hmm, that's odd. i haven't tested using netscape. the icons should be red for topics which are new/updated since your last visit. this feature depends on you having cookies enabled (it stores a cookie on your machine to remember when you last visited). did you disable cookies recently, by chance?

anyone else experiencing this problem? i guess i should re-install netscape for testing...

i didn´t disable cookies (why? security? ) but sometimes they leave for a mysterious reason... at least on this system here (which is not mine! )
but this is every time i surfing this page, since you changed it. can´t imagine that every time my planetz-cookie leaves me...?
my keyboards-cookie is fine, left last week the last time...
 as a young website designer i strongly recommend you to test also in netscape, because it´s still a widely used browser (the 4.7x versions, not the crappy 6.0)

Everything seems to work quite OK from Opera 5.1

Opera? Did you try some Java stuff with it?? Oh nonononononono...

Netscape has been a good alternative until now...no activeX, further development is a question and much more...unluckywise microsoft has the habit to bundle their os updates with the internetexplorer, so nothing much to say here...

yeah, i installed netscape 4.76 yesterday and it's working perfectly. the only icons which are red are the ones which are new since the last visit. let's communicate by email or icq about this - maybe we can find a solution. email me!

cheers,

Yeah i know, but it's (slowly) getting better, and I sort of got addicted to the speed

As a boycotter of Internet Explorer, I also have Netscape 6 but are definitely not 100% happy. You guys made me think of 4.76 again !
(oops, this is beginning to sound like a not very CW-related post...sorry  )
