I have heard speak somewhere of there being a Mod2 emulation of the Access Virus - I have seen the sample pool over in the Modular Files, but I believe that a full on Patch is floating around somewhere. Anyone know where this could be found?

BUAHAHA, be patient, my pretty...

We are waiting for the release of 3.0 since there'll be a professional-quality reverb included (the B, KB, & Indigo all have a pretty nice reverb).

..professional quality reverb

As a Modular Atom? Also, to be honest I don't like the reverb in the Virus much

It'll be available as an insert via the stereo insert module. Anyway, I agree about the Virus reverb & would much prefer having a Virus A w/ the new OS coming out, it'll be able to do just about everything the B can do *except* that awful verb.

Heh, the elusive Andromeda. I'm not sure how close it is to the Alesis A6, but it is a stock Modular1 patch, so check your original Modular directory.

I just happen to have a picture of that puppy, I would put it inline here, but it's a bit wide, so CLICK HERE to see it... Or at least, part of it

Heres that <a href=http://planetz.ghostwheel.com/forums/vi ... >Andromeda patch that's been requested here. Remember it's not really that close to the Alesis

cool - i'll check it out - but i was misled into thinking it was an emulation of the alesis andromeda (this thread is about a virus emulation) - sortof odd that an emulation comes out before the "real" thing (whatever it means to be real). . .

anyone care to the specs of the andromeda proper and the andromeda patch?

There is no Modular 2 or 1 version of the
virus a or b only the wave pool

I have a Virus A and I only use it as a
controller for the mod2
I think its overated!!
Modular1 & 2 is better imho

Actually, Ben & I have done a Virus emulation that uses little tricks to try to emulate the tonal quality, we were just waiting for V3 & the new reverb before releasing it. Now, though, I've started trying to copy my favorite presets which may cause a little bit of a delay.

So, would you guys prefer to have it sooner without the presets & later with them?

BOTH! i won't ante up to the dichotomy  - howz 'bout 1). upload the initial, 2). we all make phatty presets to add, 3). then you replace the first with the final [thx to the snazzy new features at planetz]. . .
or if forced to choose, um . . . wait for full
