I plan to build a big midi controller for the modularIII and all other synths of course.
I thought on four ribbon controller for the x/y modules and/or filter cutoff/reso modulation, 3 fader groups for ADSRs, one or two infrared controller ala Roland and a bunch of knobs and faders for other parameters prg change etc.
How looks your favourite midi controller, what it must have for the best use with modular and CW Synths?
Maybe we can make a small project and build a Planet Z midi controller?
Maybe we sell some and finance the forum with that.
Is somebody interested?

I did build my own controller, using the http://www.ucapps.de plans. The result is a real succes, since my 100€ home made DIY controller is far more useable than my 500€ kenton control freak.
One single feature you can't overlook, is soft takeover, or as it is called in the www.ucapps documentation is snap mode. That means that the controller will not send any midi data unless you cross the actual value so it will snap to it, the snap mode...
The most diffucult thing is to have a OS for this midi controller. programming a chip flash rom with native assembler code isn't easy at all. I'm a programmer, i earn my living doing programs. But doing assembly code, is kind of doing voodoo magics or something.
If you can't have your os code, you're doomed. I tell this, because you could see what they have done at ucapps... They are pretty well advanced in features and they have a really neat platform for developping your own controller, the way you wish. But, you'll have to use their code. That also mean you won't be able to sell it, or at least not as a distinctive controller.
You'll maybe be able to sell 'the service' of building one for instance.
Anyway, if you need some advices, if i can, i'll do my best to help you!
Cuz, it's very cool to do a project like this, once you have finished and can play with the controller, you'll be very happy, and even kinda proud of going thru all this...
