I used a couple of FM4's an FM One a Three-o-three and a zs404.
The rest of the track was VSTi and samples for the drum tracks.

Wow, it´s hard to hear such track after I listen to a TV serie theme and Ariels track but this is a very nice work. I love this Planet.

This is thumping. This is stomping.
This is excellent. Nay, this is awesome.
I can't say that I like the whole track but there is some excellent voicings in this track. And the energy....... well done.
I agree with Chris - I love this planet.

BTW Chris - was the TV series theme anything to do with the documentary on Mars on ZDF ferhsehen?

BLGrace - if this is your first attempt at trance - the world should be afraid, very afraid. Let's have the second one soon.

WOW - thanks for the positive reviews guys. It's nice to know that I nailed the "energy" part of the composition.
I'm a bit of a "try hard trancer" at this stage, Neil B. I managed to get one track published on one of our local trance: hard house:techno labels here called "Enigma/Independent records" - and basically now that I have a taste for it - I just want more. . .

I'm working hard and trying to produce that "high energy" feel - most of my previous stuff was down beat and atmospheric.

This TEXT thing is really easy to either offend or seem offended. So just to clear things up . . .
I LOVE this PLANET too . This thread in particular is a great sounding board and is frequented by talented people - and some of them have extremely good taste in music

So cheers, thanks again and don't think for one minute that you offended me [phew]

p.s - this tune is way better than the one the record company selected for the CD, but I guess I'm out there. . .
Next I just need to complete my other plan to . . take over the world . .bwahahahahaha . . . .

This is actually bloody good !

Absolutely not my sort of music at all - but excellently produced and crafted, some fantastic noises cleverly used - and very 'high energy' indeed ! I'm practically having e flashbacks sitting here with my headphones on !

Love it, and I'm sure my trance-nut friends would like it even more.

hey,

cool... this track started off as a really great acid techno track. i was in it like, well... you can be into something.
sorry for that, hehe
but at 1:38, i could here the trance coming in, but i could still dig it. at 2:34 however, my musical preferences and the way the track was evolving got too far apart.

gimme not the full eight, but thirty minutes of the first segment, cutting the lows from time to time dj-wise, and you make my day.

very energetic indeed. perfect sound for this kind of music, well done.

Borg - I'm intersted in your ideas for the track, if you have time I'd like to email you and talk about that. I think I know what you are talking about and I think it might be another direction to take it... well to keep the feel of the first section . . . if I read you right ?

Real energy in this track but I'd have to say that this is now known as hard house. Especially with your use of samples and hard snare. This would go down real well in many london hard house clubs! I liked this track but its a bit hard for my tastes these days, too much gives me a nose bleed.

Trance is far more melodic even when its thumping, with more use of pads although around 5:35 this track takes on some trancy qualities with the tremelo effect on the voice pad and the delayed vocal. Checkout reactivate stuff for good (if a little cheesy) early trance. Checkout the euphoria cd compilations for the more modern trance its all becoming a bit euphoric now

The FM(Rigors) track by bigrace on this list is of this type.

Acid techno is a 909 and a couple of 303s and not much, else Checkout (Plasticman/Richie hawtin)

Awesome stuff but a little dated now. Saw him live at Tribal gathering in 94. Wicked!

Then there is Acid Trance of which Pablo gargano and Hardfloor were the masters. That combined both the 303 madness with the smoother trance flavours. Very cool. Pablo garganos "303 metronome" is one of my all time favs. I got almost every record he released. checkout http://www.everecords.co.uk.

not too bad blgrace!!

a dark rolling base (with notes mostly between the whole beats) is wat I'm missing a bit, specially when you're playing with the filters of the parts that now have the bass funktion.

xactly, like in so called Goa trance.
you then are not dependent of the other instruments if you do some filtering.
