Hello everyone! A few months ago I bought a Powerpulsar with an A16 Ultra and use it with Cubase SX in Windows XP. I have the Powepulsar running in normal mode and everything works fine.

However, I would like to use XTC mode, since I have read that you can use Creamware's plug-ins in Cubase SX this way. The problem is that I have absolutely no clue how to set this up properly. Also, I have read on this forum that XTC mode messes up the audio mixdowns in Cubase SX, which to me means that I will not be able to use XTC mode anyway as the audio mixdown function is the only way for me to record my finished track.

Can anyone explain how to set up XTC mode for use with Cubase SX, and also what things won't work properly anymore? (only big issues of course, like the mixdown thing) And if there are any ways of fixing these problems? Thanks!

you can use xtc mode in sx quite nicely. To use it effectively you have to set up the xtcproject.pro (\sfpappxtcproject)to fit your needs. You can edit it by open it in SFP. There is a nice thread in this forums that explains the main things to keep in mind (can not find it at the moment).
When mixing down you have to use the merge module (set main output to merge) and record the track on another track - so the mixdown is in realtime (as in Protools).
Keep in mind the direct play container to use synths latency free from xtc and the ulli settings wont change in the control in cubase, you have to edit the cset.ini file in the SFP folder to set latency.

Wow! That's some great info! Thanks for the link. I have one question though, before I start doing all the things you instruct... Is there any way to make sure I can get back the settings easily when I change all the things you say? Because my set-up is working fine right now, and I just don't want to mess that up by trying out XTC mode without knowing if I'll keep using that. Thanks again for the help!

Start with making a backup copy of your cset.ini and xtcproject.pro files - then you should be ok if you want to turn back to your old setup again.

I've followed all of the steps in the GonZoft post (e.g. refreshing the plugin info) but I'm still getting timing problems similar to what Nizor seemed to be experiencing. Any more ideas?
