Anyhow, my friend was totally inspired by the theme tune from American Beauty. We started of there, and ended up with this tune.

hey dude!

this was a very pleasing track, just my style! however...

The beat... u have to do something about that! its all to "plastic" in a sorta way.

But a very good idea it is !

ahh, the drums.. I always hate it when it turns out sort of "plastic", just as you say.. the idea for the drums was that it had to be very light, and also very thin. But of course, plastic wasn't exactly what I was aiming for.. oh well, maybe next time. hehe.

A beautiful piece, very moody and thought-provoking. But I have to agree about the drums - I think the track would be a lot better by simply stripping them out altogether. Maybe some softer whitenoise-based hits ?

I like the way the piano melody lines seem to 'mirrow' each other, or 'answer' each other.
But indeed, I also have trouble with the beat sounding so hard and being so streight away.
But combined with the movie pictures, who knows?

ya.. the guy is a hiphop dancer so... it kind of HAD to be hard. You take a balance between "hard" and "light and thin"... and you get "plastic" LOL
About the pianos "mirroring" each other. I kind of picked the idea up from Debussy. The idea is to have the same phrase answer each other in different keys, most of the time 4 or 5 degrees above the original phrase.

I can only repeat Piddi's review!
The beat is too hard IMHO (and has too much of high frequencies). You know it all but I just wanted to add my 2p

Nice Piano but the beats, well you know. And maybe some more bass? I don't know. Just for get to listen to evrything else when that piano comes along

I tend to agree with Spirit on this one... the tune would stand up without the drums.
Anyway, apart from that drum issue, I think it's the best thing I have heard from you, but that's just because I really love the style of it.

Very moody, it´s great how you opened the sounds and before they reach their highest point you close them again, something I´ll keep in mind. The drums doesn´t fit, they need some more low frequences to fit with the bass. Some more notes on the piano would do the rest. Excellent idea and track. I´m curious about your next one.
