one girl - friend of mine have problem with computer. unfortunately she don't know whish hardware have, because she bought all comfiguration at ones. anyway, i hope that somebody can help her?! so:

Hi Guys, I am wondering would you be able to help me with following problem: Just recently I bought new computer. Everything seemed to work fine. Couple days ago I decided to install video capture card WinTV version 4.8 from Hauppauge ( http://www.hauppauge.com), as I have some old videos which I would like to convert in digital format. I have a feeling that since then I can hear various sounds via my speakers - such as knocking while I'm using keyboard, buzzing while I'm using mouse etc. There is a constant (buzzing) noise too ( sounds like a bamblebee)
Does anybody has any suggestion, please?

thanks

Does she have a Creamware card? If not, I think the thread should be moved to the real off-topic area. Have not seen you too much lately Sandrob (except for you motherboard question) have you lost track of the logistics in the forum

actualy, she don't know which card have. i guess she don't have cw's card, rather some simple custom card. yes, this thread should be moved
hm, i come here from time to time, but as i see, cw's users have less and less problems. me too  when cw release something new, than will be more fun here - don't worry, i didn't forget this planet

Where is the buzzing coming from ? A buzzing monitor usually means it is set to an illegal (ie not recommended) refresh rate. Maybe she could have adjusted that when installing the card ? Unlikely though is she's a novice...

Also there is a Yahoo group:

Try to have more problems SandroB

thanks, guys  she's finaly found a source of the problem and now she wait for manufacturer's response.
she told me that he read in manual that must conect short audio cable from video card's out to sound card line in. when she do connection like that, than have that strange behavior. i guess that is possible to do software routhings, but we will see what support say.
thanks again

don't worry, spirit. i'm waiting for new computer. i hope that i will come here to report how everything working smooth instead of asking for help. let's wait and see
