Hello,
I currently use a PC and have done quite happily. I am considering changing to a Mac because I am a Logic user and as you all probably know development for PC has stopped at version 5.51.
Do I continue to use 5.51 on PC, which still gets the job done (very well), or go for a Mac and have the opportunity to make use of future developments for Logic, or even change to Cubase SX (which I have but not got round to using because of the hassle of learning yet another program).
I have read that there are problems with OSX, but I am sure they will be solved sooner or later.
Finally,(maybe a dumb question),will the same Pulsar card from my PC work with a Mac (I think it does, though I am not 100% sure).

Thanks in advance for your responses

Well if you buy a new Mac your Pulsar card won't yet work because they only boot in OSX and SFP3.1c only works up to OS9.2.2, so you're probably best waiting till there is an OSX version of SFP. Once there is your current card & keys will be fine. Also worth a mention is that the newer G4's power supply is larger than the older G4's (which is what i've got), so that if you have more than one Pulsar card you can't close the door because the connecting STDM cable gets in the way. The older G4s have plenty of space though. i think the next generation of machines (G5s?) will be a better bet. Bide your time.

I'm in the same situation and basically decided to wait untill there's proper OSX support for Creamware cards, and also for the Logic 6 series to mature. This could take at least 12 months to happen, but that's fine, my current WinXP PC works REALLY well, "so if it ain't broke...." etc.
Plus, cutting edge Mac solutions are (IMHO) just too expensive for me to justify the jump across. I wouldn't be able to do anything that I can't currently do in PC land AFAIK.........so again, I think it's wise to sit back and see how things pan out over the coming year.

Regards.......Dave

Hello Guys,

Long Time No Talk. I understand it all now. Imagine if Creamware would have delivered on their Linux support in 1999---then OS X could have been ported to by now.

why doesn't CW do an OSX driver by the way?

Like Astro said on CW forum, you can't port it to OSX with a simple driver, it seems all codes must be rewritten.
I wish it wasn't

Additinally, they have to consider 2 standards: VST and Audio Units - as I read in the support database (CW site) they probably will support both and it obviously will delay the launch time
