Placing monitor speakers on the wall

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone has found any decent solution to this? I've a pair of Genelec 1030s and my table is running out of space so I'd need something clever to put 'em on the wall.
Genelec is manufacturing one type of holders, but according to the images I've seen about them, they do not allow vertical adjustment (I'd like to have then a bit higher than my ears, and then turn them downwards). And their price is awful compared to their expected simplicity...

You may laugh at this but my monitors( Paradigm Reference series) are sitting on top of speaker holders that are in turn sitting on milk crates to get a higher placement. The monitors sit on each side of my work desk. Could save you some money...

But how do you turn them downwards then? Or are they now at your ear-level?

I have so litlle space on my desk that about the only solution is to place them on the wall.

Maybe I should re-organise my room... one problem is that my desk is a "corner-model", you know?

you will have some bad things happen with bass if they're too close to the wall(especially with rear firing ports).....really they should be in the middle of the room.(not always practical....)
if they must be on the wall,use a bookshelf.omnimounts are cool too.yorkville sound out of canada has some nice omnimount-type wall mounts that are reasonably priced.(not on their website,but available)

I have a corner desk as well.
The speakers are at ear level, at a slight angle to the wall.

I wish I has a picture so you could see...

For something as simple as this, I would go to somebody with imagination (there are always a few in every town), not spending my money in useless sophisticated apparatus, unless you have the money to spend on it, of course.

I’m referring to those “do-it-yourself” men, one of them could sort it for you. I which we were near each other, I would have done it for you.

Gary, The Genelecs have switches that are meant for "not_so_great_positioning". They allow me to change the freq response. In manual, they have given correct settings for placing monitors "near the wall", "in a corner" etc.

I'm afraid that I'll have to place them higher than my ears (and display) so I should be able to turn them downwards...so a simple bookshelf doesn't fit.
I wish I had a digicam so I could post a pic on my difficult room :|

Nestor, so I think this isn't so simple... if you think you can solve this... draw me a pic

have you checked the wall mounts for small TV screens in the hifi departement ?

as garyb says tho, be ready for some strange acoustic phenomenons from the wall. You might want to padd the wall a bit before you bolt your speakers to it.
(in my opinion, tho)

Ken is right, I've seen this job done in some Studios in Glasgow. They would cover the wall with some sort of porous rubber.

i laugh at switches claiming to fix the problems of being against a wall.

still,i'm sure it'll be reasonably useable.

No chence, mine are agains the wall, and I mix anyway... I have a room of about 1.70 X 180, or something like that if I remember well, no chance!
