Wireless Mouse experience. Which one?

I’d like to go away from the side of my system whenever I need to, getting the mouse with me for recording so I don’t need to be going sitting and back all the time… That would save a lot of time, and make things easier when you’ve got an idea.

Which wireless mouse would you recommend? If anyone is using one of those, which is your experience with it? Cheers.

I stick to Logitech Cordless MouseMan Wheel. It has, as you suspected, a scroll wheel (changes modular parameters neatly: try it on freq devider) and a back button which is very convenient for browsing.

I use Logitech MouseMan Wheel “cabled” version myself, and it’s the best mouse I’ve used cos it’s extremely comfortable. I just wanted to know if there was something similar and perhaps, cheaper… cos it’s a bit pricey.

When you say mouse, your lips must say logitech. Beeing a computerconsulent and an equipment buyer (for firms and schools) for many years, thrust me, I've have tried many combinations. At first logitech seems a bit pricy, but their bould-quality make them last longer than thier competitors. And in the end, the cheap solutions migth be even more pricy, cause they don't last long.

Man, if you work on your maschine everyday, atleast make it feel nice to your body to do that. Sure everything is a comprimise, but don't spare on keyboards, mouse and monitor. (anyway it doesn't matter that much if it's an athlon 2.0 or 2.4 thats in your system)

You sure like the MouseMan Wheel Wireless mouse...

but what do you think about the Logitech Internet Keyboard? Is it a good one from your experience?

Yes, Logitech here too - cordless keyboard and mouse, no problems at all.

I have 2 mouseman wheel wireless. I do not use them much, but they came with the keyboards I wanted (I think they are called cordless pro? - they have a "split" layout).

You should also know, that you can connect several "pointers" (mice, trackballs etc.) to the same PC with no problems at all. So keep the mouse you like as your at_the_PC_mouse, and then get another one for the other location. Personally I realy like my mx300 - it is not cordless, but the mouse is very light weight.

I would, if it wasn't because they use the same recievers as my keyboards. 1 reciever for 2 units ... jipiee

no one has talked about the thumb track ball. you can have it in your lap or 2 meters away from the computer and you don't have to deal with having a mouse surface. it does take a little to get used to though.

Oh YES, Once I was forced to use a trackball and it is at first (for me the whole day!) something like you ride a bike keeping your hands crossed (have you ever tried to do it

And on the Logitech: yes, they have no real competition and they deserve this!

Track balls can be great - and they can be a pain. Some models have a severe tendency to collect fat from your fingers(*) and store it at the small places, where the ball "rests" on/in the housing. This makes the ball quite rigid to move. If you get a ball, that does not have this tendency, it may be a fine choice for you. I used a semi-grease ball for 2½ years, and switching to the mx300 wired mouse was a joy when working much with the PC. Also, it is a bit easyer for my to do exact posiotioning with the mouse.

(*) All hands got fat on them - if they don't, the owner has a realy bad problem.

all mice get dirty and the track ball mouse is very easy to clean.

I use my optical mx300 on a piece of carpet, that I put on the table - no dirt problem here

Also some track balls are not very easy to clean - I mean clean enough.

I am convinced after having handled it. I want this mouse.

Here in Chile, they want for me to pay $76, what is crazy, so I have asked for it to a friend of mine and will have it hopefully soon. I’m sure I’m going to feel at home with it, as I already own a Logitech MouseMan Wheel cabled and I love it.

I did Ken, cheers... I've asked for the Logitech Internet Navigator Keyboard, mayly for the posibilities of programing different keys to whatever program you like, it's a great keyboard, recomended!

On Cubase.net I once saw this guy who posted a 'utility' to assign all Mediaplayer command keys to Cubase. The utility was just a .reg file to load into the registry, so the keys must be there somewhere. Just tried to find the topic or page, but i couldn't :/
