For all I know, this has been done a million times or wouldn't work the way I want, but has anyone seen (or would be interested in trying to make one in Mod) a filter where the frequencies (or any type of sonic footprint) you cut out get sent out to a separate signal? So you could for example notch of a little room noise, and then send the noise to a modulator or sampler or whatever and use it to make a rhythmic line. ...or delay the excised frequencies without any dry signal, so the remaining freqs are the attack, while the high freqs make up the delay tail.

I'd just make it myself, except I'm barely past the first Modular Tutorial and I'd actually like to use this idea in a track; one which I'd prefer to finish this year! Besides, more minds make for more ideas.

Thanks in advance,
Sam

Invert the filtered result and mix it with the dry mix. You should get (except for the resonance) "what's not filtered" .

Maybe a filter adds one sample delay, but Xmod/FBconnector does add one sample delay too. Give it a try!

Have you tried "MultiModeFilter B"? It outputs LP, BP and HP at the same time.
