Hi,
some weeks ago I have seen here any topic about using direct asio routing to cubase without using Pulsar mixer here. But now I can´t find it. Does anybody know ?

Are you using this setup anybody, what´s your experience ? I have Pulsar I. Is there any trick how to omit latency, because standart routing into cubase through ASIO is of course delayed.

Thanks
Peter

your Pulsar One should have a latency of 13ms at 44khz. There's no trick to avoid this because it's simply the speed of the IO interface - not the processing.
As far as I remember that thread was mostly about quality and one conclusion was that as long as you simply mix (in the sense of summing) in Cubase there's no difference in sound to the SFP mixer.
But if you apply native plugins like eqs and compressors or whatever that has an influence.
I swear on SFP sound quality but finally it's also a matter of personal taste, so you'd better do an A/B comparison and decide yourself.
But I don't see a problem with the above mentioned latency. Just monitor at the proper location and all works well.
Or do you send some channels 'ping-pong-like' between the 2 systems ?
That would of course add those 13 ms for every round travel of the signal.

cheers, Tom

I have a Pulsar1 too and mix my music in Cubase only, because the Cubase mixer automation is more easier for me than assign cc´s to the PulsarMixer and turn some external midi knobs.
Anyway with my default Pulsar project I can mix in Cubabse AND with Pulsar when I like.
I post my default Pulsar and Cubase files into the study forum. I hope this can help you.

I am not sure about the pure sound quality but Cubase is more fun to mix with. Some people said the SFP sounds better. If I had the pro SFP compressor etc. I might be using more of the SFP. I mix the wavs in Cubase and the SFP instruments in SFP. For me it is easier to use both mixers at the same time.

Yeah, thanks, but I still can´t find wide topic about that ?

And I have another question, If you are using XTC mode, there is a possibility to use any not XTC effect as part of multieffect XTC slot device, but is there any possibility to use non XTC synth in XTC mode, such as STS (not Volksampler) ?
