im using this:
amd k6 2, 500mhz
3??mb ram
win xp
sfp 3.1
powersampler card
when i route my cubase asio outputs to the sfp asio in ports in sfp(16 outs or+), to put those nice realtime effects on them, my pc starts lagging..
and i have more computer power if i leave the sfp plugins alone, and just use normal vst plugins, then i have if i connect all my cubase asio outs to sfp mixer with effects...
sfp plugins, and the sfp platform should be a NON stresser for my cpu, not a STRESSER!
is it because my computer is simply too slow?
i have tried to play around with the "priority" settings for cubase and sfp, but things still dont work smooth..
im suspecting the activation of more asio outports in cubase is stressing my cpu alot, but again, im not sure ..
guess ill just leave all my sfp plugins alone then... and only use the sfp synths.., cause my xtc mode doesnt work...boohhooo!
sfp crackles..

Samplerate/bitdepth and latency will obviously affect cpu load dramatically. Also I'd suggest using only the asio channels you NEED.
Also its highly likely that your motherboard isn't the best option for SFP/creamware cards. Older VIA & SiS chipsets have a lot of documented problems on these forums, tho with enough effort people seem to have made headway in the past.
