I remember having solved this before but i don't remember how...
When i start logic it begins as expected, with loading ASIO engine etc, but it stops at 'init wave player' and never shows arrange window, i have to restart computer because system totally freezes.
How can i disable this wave player (I don't think i need it)

thank you!

You are using Win98se or something like this (not W2K or XP)

Go in control panel->Sound card stuff->Pulsar (or luna), double-click, go in property panel, and UNCHECK the 'always keep device open' or something that sound like this... Don't remember exactly, been a long time in Win9x...

Marcus,

Is that it?

Open a Wave Source Device in your project. That would solve your problem. Don't open a Wave Dest if you are using Asio only.

i think what marcuspocus said comes closest but for some reason it doesn't work.

I had that problem and I solved it that way. Check in your Pulsar/Luna driver property and see how many output and input devices are there.

Sometimes you have to leave the sequencer for a while for it to open especially when you have a new SFP project. That is not a major problem.

does it have anything to do with the Pulsar wave devices anyway? i tried with and without; same result. i have to prevent logic from trying to load the wave player, wich is a logic device i think, not a pulsar one. Logic should just skip "init wave player". unchecking 'always open devices' did the trick before, but now for some dark reason it doesn't.

not sure this will be of any help but,
did you uncheck "wave player" in logic audiodriver preferences?

i can't acces the audio preferences for logic if logic doesn't start up...or can i?
btw: the problem seems to be more global, other programs using audio (windows media player...) crash the computer too. Pulsar environment itself works ok though.
i should also mention i have re-installed the old Pulsar 2.4a (nostalgic!;-))

allow logic to start by cancelling the warning box and THEN change prefs.

no warning box, just the colourful rectangle with the logic logo etc, and at the lower end of wich you see: VST: Scope VST,...and then : Init. waveplayer... and then...nothing, rectangle turns grey and doesn't go away unless i reboot computer.

thanks guys for suggestions.
