Samplaire mentioned it was funny that John Bowen is a "budding Pulsarian"

He suggested we think of some other titles...

Perhaps we could just add extra lines under the existing titles ?

For example, developers would get something like, er, um, "developer" ?

Maybe Modular contributors could also get something like "Modmaster"

Then I suppose there are "patchmakers" and "composers".

Worth thinking about ?

I completely agree!
maybe it should be added a counter for the songs published, the modular patches published, the devices published (but in this case the list will become very long!)

It's certainly an idea worth thinking about, but needs a lot of consideration.
The number of posts are not always so relevant. For instance, when Nestor puts something comprehensive in the study forum, it tends to take several posts to cover the topic.
I like the idea of Modmaster, Developer, Producer etc because it would allow people who have posted questions up to see that a modular question was being answered by a modular expert (for instance), although many of the long-standing members have a lot of experience in all facets of the technology, the composing, the producing and so on. So you need a title of "All-Rounder" too as a suggestion.
Perhaps one extra line so that each member could put their KEY skill or interest.

The little labels were always more for humor than anything else, since the number of posts is prominently displayed in the same place.

The idea of giving someone an additional self-chosen label that will display beneath their name is a good one, and I'll put it on the list. But no promises, as life is getting unbelievably busy right now. More news later.

Thanks

Wouldn't it make more sense to substitute "SFP" where you have "Pulsar" all over this site? I know it doesn't sound as good but it would be more descriptive.

SFP sounds techie. Pulsar sounds more dreamy then humanous.

hmm... Perhaps we take our names too seriously? At least we all know who John Bowen is. And this rating makes us equal or above John Bowen at least in one point  The additional title line is good idea, indeed!

a 'real' Pulsar in astronomical sense is a mighty impressive, almost unbelievable object.
That fits great to the sounds of the board
And there are those stylish LED watches from the 70s, with Pulsar engraved in a red crstal.
Btw that makes Deeelite's Towa the first Pulsarian ever, as can be seen on the cover of the 'World clique' album

cheers, Tom

And maybe there should be titles fot those who only ask questions and those who give wise answers. But how to count... Counting '?' marks in posts =D. Wise answers is a bit harder though.

Another idea - though a bit of a hit on the bandwidth - is to be able to have small jpeg or gif signature. Maybe if they were limited to say 3K each ...
